Since 2008, Haven of Hope for Kids in Hope has been providing cost-free country vacations to
over 200 families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness. For many guest families,
their stay at the Haven of Hope for Kids cottages represents the only vacation they have had
since the diagnosis of their child's illness. For some, it is both the first and possibly the last
vacation they will have with their terminally ill child.
The majority of families who visit would not be able to afford a vacation without this
program. Haven of Hope for Kids annually invites around 40 families to stay free of charge in
cozy, handicap-accessible cottages on Hickory Street, located directly behind St. Luke's
Church.
